Career Strategy & Transition
I can work with you to create a personal road map for your career. It’s a plan that can support you in your career progression and advancement. A road map is the key to driving and getting from one point to the next (thanks, GPS). Create your own personal GPS to your desired future by building this career map.
It starts with defining your vision….where do you want to be in the future? What’s important about that to you? A vision is a critical step toward understanding exactly what you want to achieve and where you want to be in the future.
The vision informs strategies to pursue. These could include things like: Sponsorship, Visibility, Working into your Strengths (I use Gallup Strengthfinders), Brand Creation, Collateral Materials, etc.
Each strategy will drive measurable and time sensitive goals toward the future.
Through these actions, you will have created an effective career GPS, guiding you through to the vision.
Sometimes the need is to transition from your current job or career to another. Our process will work somewhat the same where we begin with the vision. We always begin with the vision because this journey is all about that great new future for you.
Assessments will help us to determine career options, if that is your goal.
What is your Career Brand?
One of the key strategies will be preparing collateral materials. These include goal setting around updating resume, and Linked In (I am a Linked Marketing expert and can help you learn this critical career tool). We will also pursue goals around best search strategies, focusing in on networking (85 to 90% of jobs are found through networking), and support with interviewing strategies.
I will work with you to define and develop this.
You see, I view all of this as a marketing effort of you and your skills. This is true both in your current job as well as external searches. Think marketing! Getting the job done well is just the “ticket to the dance.” Effective marketing ensures that your value proposition is strong within the current or new company.
Finally, you may choose the path of entrepreneur or solopreneur. You have come to the right place! I will work with you to create a plan (with a template I use) to build your business and make this come alive.
